The International Thespian Society (ITS) is an honor society for high school and middle school theatre students. It is a division of the Educational Theatre Association. Thespian troupes serve students in grades 9-12; Junior Thespian troupes serve students in grades 6 through 8. A few famous ITS alumni include Tom Hanks, Val Kilmer, James Marsters, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Stephen Schwartz. Festivals are held annually at the district, state and national levels. Each February, the Georgia Thespian Festival is held in Columbus, GA. Membership currently stands at approximately 100,000 student members across 4,700 schools. The one millionth Thespian was inducted in 1976 and the two millionth Thespian was inducted in 2009. As of 2017, there have been over 2.3 million Thespians inducted.

2022-2023 Officers
Harlee Day - (President), is a senior who is this year’s troupe President. Her experience includes Stage Manager in The Complete History of Theater Abridged, Minstrel/Stage Manager/Costume Crew in Once Upon A Mattress, Izzy Ricks in The Edge of Peace, Soundboard Operator for our cut short production of Steel Magnolias, Thing 1 in Seussical, Stage Manager for The Miss Firecracker Contest, New employee/Ensemble in 9 to 5, Maid/Gull/Ensemble in The Little Mermaid, Spotlight Operator in Elf, and Ensemble in our sadly cut production of Footloose. She was also featured in the VVTG Cabaret as a Wickersham Brother in Seussical. She has also worked as our troupe Secretary and Clerk last year for our troupe. Along with VVTG, Harlee is a member of the Viking Marching Band, Sources Of Strength, and EHHS Chorus. She also was part of the North Georgia Percussion Ensemble. Harlee hopes to go to college to either get a nursing degree or a theater education degree. She would also like to thank her amazing troupe, family, and troupe director for helping her become who she is now.

Raven Abrams - (Secretary), is a senior who has performed in multiple shows such as the little mermaid, 9 to 5, The Miss Firecracker contest, Seussical, and The Edge of Peace, in raven’s future she would like to be an actress her self and continue doin theatre and even tv and make her theatre family proud (and shout them out)!

Colton Hewell - (Webmaster) , is a Junior here at East Hall. You may recognize him from our recent production of Once Upon A Mattress, in which he played Prince Dauntless, as well as from The Edge of Peace, in which he was Tuc. He has also played in Seussical, The Miss Firecracker Contest, 9 to 5, The Little Mermaid, The Mad Ones, and Pippin. He is the Scribe for ITS Troupe #5432, and was previously the Troupe’s Vice President. Outside of Theatre, he also participated in the EHHS Chorus. He has gone to GMEA All-State Chorus for 4 years, and intends to go again next year. He also competed in this years Literary Competition, in which he placed 4th in the region for the Men’s Solo Vocal Performance. He is excited to perform for you, and he hopes that you enjoy the show.
